Overview

Marion Health, is a not-for-profit health care system deeply rooted in the Marion-Grant County community. Our flagship hospital, Marion General Hospital, is a 99-bed acute care facility serving as the sole community hospital in the region.  Would prefer an OP/ IP provider.

Job Summary:

Provide immediate evaluation, stabilization, and treatment for acute illnesses and injuries in the emergency department. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver swift, high-quality, patient-focused care.

Key Duties:

  • Perform immediate evaluation of patient with undifferentiated and acute complaints.
  • Prioritize patients based on severity using triage principles.
  • Provide life-saving interventions such as airway management, CPR, defibrillation, hemorrhage control, and emergency medications.
  • Initiate advanced trauma and cardiac life support protocols.
  • Manage medical, surgical, pediatric, obstetric, psychiatric, and traumatic emergencies.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Perform emergency procedures (intubation, chest tube insertion, wound repair, fracture reduction, and more.)
  • Coordinate care and consult specialists.
  • Arrange hospital admissions or safe discharge with clear instructions.
  • Create timely, accurate, and legally sound medical records.
  • Document rationale for diagnosis, treatments, and disposition.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives in the ED.
  • Provide compassionate patient and family communication

Qualifications:

  • MD/DO degree with Emergency Medicine residency training
  • Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine
  • Valid state medical license and ACLS/PALS/ATLS certifications
  • Strong critical thinking, leadership, and procedural skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress clinical environment
