Overview
Major Health Partners located in Shelbyville, Indiana is looking for an Orthopedic surgeon that is Sports Medicine fellowship trained to do knees, shoulders, and hips are an added bonus. This surgeon would join our current Sports Medicine office that has a Family Practice Sports Medicine fellowship trained physician. We would like the surgeon to be involved in our school systems on-site for injury checks and football game coverage. The surgeon would take ED ortho-call to join our two general orthopedic surgeons, 2 non-op sports medicine doctors, 1 foot and ankle surgeon, and 1 hand surgeon. We have an outreach athletic training program with ATCs in all 5 of our county schools and middle schools to drive referrals.

- 4-day work week schedule with Tuesday’s off, but this depends on OR schedules for block time
- Call is 1 day per week and every 5th weekend with 1-2 holidays per year
- Community need due to growth
- Must be BE/BC
- Goal would be 2 clinic days per week averaging 20 patients per clinic, and 2 surgery days/ week
- Eventual goal would be 300-350 cases per year and might have to build up to 2 surgery days/ week
- MHP orthopedic center was established in 2009, but we have outgrown this and are planning for expansion
